Goodbye Surrey. I’ll miss the trees.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be moving to Dorset. It’s been a long time in the planning, and I’m excited to go. I’ve lived in Surrey for the last 25 years, and it really is a lovely county – especially when it comes to trees.

There are trees everywhere in Surrey! All sorts. Autumn is an explosion of colour. The trees have always been an inspiration for my art, and I’ve lost count of the lessons I’ve taught that feature some aspect of trees, from the texture of bark, to the shape of leaves, to the lines of birches in winter, to the soft blossoms of the cherry trees along the high street in Horsell.

I am looking forward to discovering the woodlands of Dorset in my new adventures. A bit of teaching and a bit of coaching, by the sea. I can’t wait.
